On October 2nd, 2025, the EMPAIRED project officially kicked off with a vibrant launch meeting that brought together all partners to set the foundation for a bold and transformative journey in XR and AI-driven ergonomic education.
EMPAIRED – Empathic AI and XR for Ergonomic Education is an ambitious, interdisciplinary project responding to the MASTER Project’s Panel 10 challenge on XR for remote and inclusive robotics education. Coordinated by the University of Siena, in collaboration with Deep Reality SRL and Moebeus Società Benefit SRL.
The kick-off meeting marked an important milestone where partners aligned on the project’s vision, objectives, and roadmap. Discussions included the introduction to the technologies that will be used in the project, as the digital human Algho, capable of voice interaction and emotion recognition.
At the heart of the EMPAIRED initiative is the creation of an immersive and inclusive training environment enhanced by the AI-driven avatar, Algho, and built into the Ergon-XR framework, which includes a real-time dashboard for risk factor evaluation. The combination of Algho and the real-time dashboard will make learning both more effective and engaging. With pilot activities planned for over 60 learners, the project is expected to deliver measurable improvements in ergonomic competence and satisfaction.
The consortium is excited to begin this innovative journey, which aims to set a new standard for inclusive XR ergonomic education.
